Policemen among 22 killed in Ghazni clash

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Twenty Talibaninfo-icon and two policemen have been killed during a clash in the Qarabagh district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Sunday.

Acting Police Chief Col. Mustafa Mayar told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash erupted Saturday night when the Taliban attacked police check-posts in the Ayino locality.

He said clashes continued till morning but reinforcement reached the site of clash and forces launched clearing operation.

Taliban confirmed the overnight clash, the group spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said three security forces and one of their fighters were killed, five security personnel and two Taliban wounded.
