Farah revenue up by 15 pc in first six month of fiscal year

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Custom office in western Farah province collected over 238 million afghanis in taxes and tariff in the first eight months of currently fiscal year showing 15 percent surge in the revenue compared to the same period of last year, an official said on Wednesday.

Abdul Hadi Bawar, custom office in charge, told reporters here, according to the Finance Ministry plan the Farah custom office should have collected 222.4 afghanis in revenue but during the period 238.3 million afghanis had been collected.

He said the revenue collected during the period was 15 percent higher than the amount collected last year in the same period.

Governor Mohammad Arif Shah Jahan hailed the custom office and said the efforts of custom office head and other employees led to the unbelievable surge in the revenue.

Earlier, the Finance Ministry announced 76.5 billion afghanis revenue had been collected in the first six months of the ongoing fiscal year showing 10 percent surge in the revenue this year compared the same period in the last year.
